Android install checklist for Yono desk apps

Use this checklist before sideloading any catalogued Android package. It is general safety hygiene, not a certification that a specific APK is safe.

1. Confirm the destination

Check the source label on the app page. Prefer official or developer destinations when they exist. If the directory shows source unavailable, do not treat a random mirror as endorsed.

2. Match version and requirements

Compare the version and Android requirement on the desk page with the package you are about to install. Mismatches are a common cause of install failures.

3. Download completely

Interrupted downloads corrupt packages and surface as parse errors. Wait for the transfer to finish and verify file size when shown.

4. Enable install permission narrowly

If Android asks to allow installs from a browser or file manager, enable it only for that source, complete the install, then disable the permission again.

5. Review prompts

Read permission prompts. This desk does not claim virus-free status. If something looks wrong, stop and use the report flow.

6. After install

Re-disable “Install unknown apps” for that channel. Keep Play Protect or your device security settings enabled unless you have a specific, informed reason not to.
